Our Grading Protocol

A rigorous process that starts from the timing of the harvest to the manner by which the dates are handled, screened, cleaned, processed and packaged. We harvest at the appropriate stage of maturity and we delicately handle our dates throughout the process. We reject dates that are damaged or contaminated by insects and mites and we screen out defective fruits and those not compatible with the variety’s shape and color.

Knowing that skin separation and breakage is inevitable; the resulting imperfections are evenly distributed and kept at a minimum. As a result, all our premium dates demonstrate skin that is clean and free from mechanical damage, fermentation and even blemishes.

What Is Organic?

The essence of organic farming is sustainability necessitating a focus on building healthy soils and minimization of adverse environmental impacts. This involves practices that revolves around enhancing the natural attributes of the environment while avoiding the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

But organic is not just that. It is a holistic way of life that conveys a commitment to life in harmony with one’s environment and a commitment to providing healthy and delicious food. Organic practices are the foundation for preserving precious natural resources, ecosystems and biodiversity, and contributing to a sustainable future for the planet.

Fertile soil, abundant agriculture, nutrient rich food – it’s simply what motivate and inspire organic producers.

Why buy Organic

People simply don’t want residues from chemical fertilizers or sprays used in the growing process to be in the foods they eat and serve to their loved ones. This is not to say that non-organic products are all suspect in this matter.

But with organic you are assured of that. But there are other reasons it makes sense to go organic, whether you’re growing your own produce, buying ingredients and products to cook with at home, or enjoying a meal out.

Because organic farmers grow food in good quality soil, and avoid things like synthetic sprays, fertilizers and hormones during production, the food they produce is nutrient rich and bursting with natural flavor. Here’s why we believe in supporting organic and natural whole foods.

The Nutritional Value of dates

For centuries, dates have been considered an essential part of a healthy diet and a natural superfood because they are an excellent source of energy, fiber, sugars and nutrients.

Dates contain vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin A and vitamin K. Minerals including calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium, sulfur and zinc can also be found in dates.

  • The high proportion of carbohydrates and natural sugars contained in dates make them great natural energy boosters, giving you a pick-me-up when energy levels are running low. This is why they are a popular ingredient in organic energy bars consumed by athletes and gym-goers.

  • High levels of dietary fibre aid digestion, relieve constipation and help you avoid that bloated feeling after a heavy meal. A 2005 study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry also suggests that these dried fruits have high levels of dietary fiber and insoluble fiber, in particular.

These fibers, in addition to beneficial amino acids can also aid in the treatment of intestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), diverticulitis, and hemorrhoids, according to the Journal of Nutrition Reviews.

  • The high iron content of dates helps people suffering from anemia (iron deficiency), which can lead to dizziness, brittle nails, fatigues and shortness of breath.

  • Dates provide antioxidants such as flavonoids and phenolic acid, whose anti-inflammatory properties reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease. A study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that consuming dates fights the risk factors associated with heart disease.

  • Date palm pollen and oil have been used for centuries as a traditional remedy for male infertility and for boosting both male and female libido, according to a 2016 study in the Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine.

  • According to an article in the Heart Views journal, dates are rich in carotenoids, which may help prevent night blindness and preserve healthy vision.

  • Research at North Dakota State University found that date contains boron - a vital nutrient for healthy bones. Other studies have suggested that they contain minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium that can help fight disease such as osteoporosis.

  • Each date contains significant amounts of choline, a B Vitamin that helps boost memory, learning ability and reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s.

  • A 2017 study in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology found that 154 women who ate dates did not need to be artificially induced for labor.

  • Dates are a natural source of Vitamins C and D, which helps keep your skin smooth, soft and youthful.
